Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By thirteen years old, she has undergone surgeries, transfusions, and shots with numerous side effects so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has infested her since childhood. Anna being a preimplantation genetic diagnosis a "test tube baby",she was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate,a life that she has never challenged until now for many different reasons. Anna has always been defined in terms of her sister and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and could have fatal consequences for her only sister that she truely loves and has been raised to save.
Jodi Picoult tackles a controversial real-life subject with wisdom and sensitivity. A novel that will pull at your heart strings until you cry and have you so involved in the story that you feel like you are there. A must read that you won't be able to put down and a story that will stay with you forever!
This was a good book! It's sad that this is something that actually happens.
